Before I was a school counselor, I was a teacher. I spent the first 11 years teaching at David A. Perdue Primary School. During this time, I earned an advanced degree in Education from Piedmont College. Somewhere along the way, I felt this tugging at my heart. That is when my focus shifted. I found that academics were wildly important, but so was my students' emotional state and well-being! I earned an advanced degree in School Counseling from Fort Valley State University. I used this degree at Bleckley County Primary School for two (amazing)years. I am so glad to be back HOME, in Houston County! 

I enjoy spending time with my family when I am not at school. My husband and adult children love the mountains and waterfall hiking. We are living proof that it is never too late to dream a *new* dream!
